2006 Cornerstone Award Presented for Tollgate Village’s Advanced Fiber Optic Technology by Broadband Properties Magazine

Thompson’s Station, TN — Tollgate Village has been recognized by Broadband Properties Magazine as its “Most Visionary TND (Traditional Neighborhood Development)” for uniquely incorporating its all-in-one, fiber-optic capabilities into the new community located in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee. James Carbine, co-owner of Carbine Development, accepted the award on behalf of the company and Crystal Clear Technologies at the 2006 Broadband Summit in Dallas, Texas.

Tollgate Village’s Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network is the first of its kind in the area. In essence, all homes and residences are pre-wired at Tollgate Village in order to allow for high-speed voice, data and video capabilities. As Jamie Spurlock, President of Crystal Clear Technologies, says “We are future-proofing resident’s homes in Tollgate Village.” Allowing for the daily necessities of high-speed internet access, instant and clear telephone connections and Digital Video/High Definition Television (HDTV), the Tollgate Village fiber-optic network integrates all features in a single network.

“When a resident moves into Tollgate, they only have to make one call to quickly connect their phone, cable and internet services,” explains Spurlock. “And if there is ever a problem or the resident wants to upgrade their service, they can immediately speak with an on-site technology consultant.”

Other features of Tollgate Village’s advanced technology system include a wireless data network that will connect all areas of the community, making the entire neighborhood a Wi-Fi hot spot. A community intranet and an interactive website are also being developed to keep residents and business owners connected.
 

All of Tollgate Village’s technology networks will be managed from an on-site Technology Center. This facility, which has been built and is currently operational, is where the on-site technology consultant is located as well as where all equipment, wiring and backup systems are housed.

All technology services are packaged for residents according to their needs. Coincidentally, Tollgate Village is the first development in Tennessee to offer a package of state-of-the-art technology services within a TND.
